Mar. 11, 2005 – About 327,000 Americans filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week, the highest level in two months, the Labor Department said Thursday.
Some analysts suggested that the surprisingly high numbers could be due to some workers not being able to file on President?s Day last week, when claims offices were closed.
Meanwhile, the economy added 262,000 jobs last month, the largest increase in four months.
