The only thing with a worse record than Pat Robertson's penchant for predictions is the mainstream media's lust for incredible news stories -- and the liberal media's willingness to follow suit. Every outlet I checked noted that the far-right televangelist's far-out predictions are often wrong (or downright obvious, like guessing that Bush would nominate conservatives to the Supreme Court), they nonetheless thought it was relevant to report what obscure Jesus nut has to say on the matter of a massive terrorist attack hitting the US in 2007. The AP and Reuters picked up the stories, as did Fox and CNN (via YouTube) -- and sure enough, liberal blogs like Raw Story and Huffington Post were not far behind.
This is all nearly as funny as CNN's annual in-depth interview with The Amazing Kreskin, pondering what might be in store for us in the year ahead... or 14 years running.
