AFP Tells One Side of China Unionization Story

It's difficult to imagine what kind of discipline it would take to hear that fast-food empires McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken plan to set up unions for their workers in part of China, from the top-down, and somehow not reflect on the absurdity of the proposal. Still harder would it be to not interview workers or labor activists in China about the matter. Thus, my Obedient Corporate Reporter of the Week Award goes to: Anonymous, of Agence France-Presse, for the article "." We have much to learn from the complacency, commitment to corporate bias, and just plain fortitude of this unnamed reporter. In the face of pressure to offer at least token attention to analysis and workers' opinions, Anonymous has perservered, sourcing only corporate reps and Chinese government officials, who surely can be trusted to establish adversarial organs through which workers can engage in collective bargaining. Anonymous, whoever you are, you are a beacon for your peers!
