World News Palestinian shootout kills 6 as truce breaks down

A fragile truce between Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip broke down on Thursday when members of Hamas fired on a convoy from the rival Fatah faction, touching off an intense gun battle that killed 6 and wounded at least 50. Hamas members of the Palestinian security forces shot at what Hamas said was a truck convoy delivering weapons to the Presidential Guard, a security loyal to Pres. Mahmoud Abbas of the Fatah party. In the West Bank, meanwhile, Israeli troops shot dead 4 Palestinians in 3 separate confrontations.
