World News Iraq suicide bombers kill 60, wound 150 in southern city

Two suicide bombers struck a market jammed with shoppers after the Ashura holiday in Hilla on Thursday, killing at least 60, wounding 150 and spraying body parts so far that police still scoured rooftops for them late in the night. Witnesses say the local hospital was overwhelmed with casualties and turned people away with what medicine was available. This is the latest violence in the overwhelmingly Shia region south of Baghdad, which contains Hilla and the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. In Baghdad, shelling and bombing killed at least 46.
