World News Somalia govt. troops fire on protesters, killing 5

A thousands-strong pro-peacekeepers march ended when an explosion went off and government troops fired into the crowd on the streets of Kismayo. At least 5 dead and 22 wounded were counted at a Kismayo hospital. It was not immediately clear what caused the original blast. Officials said 3 soldiers died in the explosion and 5 other officials also were injured, including high-ranking army officers. Earlier, 2 areas of Mogadishu were hit by mortar attacks that killed at least 5 and wounded 10, witnesses said.
