Colombian conflict spills across Venezuela border

A 4-year-old girl was killed in a shootout between members of Colombia's two biggest insurgent groups in a border town in Venezuela's southwestern plains region. High school students held a demonstration in February in Bolívar Plaza in another Venezuelan town near the Colombian border, to protest the recruitment of young people there by irregular forces from Colombia. Observers say there is evidence of a permanent Colombian guerilla presence inside Venezuela.
