World News Tensions rise as UK condemns pictures of captured troops

Iran on Wednesday showed the first pictures of 15 detained British navy personnel after Britain froze contacts between the 2 in an escalating dispute over the captives. Britain angrily condemned the images of the 8 sailors and 7 marines shown by Iranian television, in which the only woman among them apparently admitted that the group had trespassed into Iranian waters. The UK insists it can prove its forces were in Iraqi waters when captured by Iran, but Tehran maintains they were found 550 meters inside its territory.
